Remember the Osiris D3?

The early 2000′s was an interesting time for skate shoes. The days of low profile, light weight Vans had passed (And it would be half a decade before they would come back, again.) and the era of the bulky tech shoe began. If there’s one specific shoe that sticks out when we look back on the history of skateboarding, it has to be the Osiris D3.

Is it ugly? Well short answer, yes. Nowadays people look at this skate shoe and think, “What the heck was Osiris thinkin?!” but back in the day, these were the pair of shoes to have. So if you’re wondering what Osiris was thinking manufacturing this shoe, you should also wonder
what the public was doing buying them.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is how did anyone ever get anything done on a board wearing these? Osiris D3‘s
weigh about 30% more than your average skate shoe, which means a lot when your trying to control that 7-8″ board at your feet. Heavy or not, skaters (and those who just loved the shoe, of course) made this shoe one of the single most popular, and highest selling skate shoes of all time.

So what’s with all this D3 talk? Well they’re back, currently available in 3 colors including Black/Charcoal/Orange, Charcoal/Black/Orange, and Blue/Navy/Cement. 2 of the 3 color ways are currently available instore here at CL Skate as well as online!

Skate them, collect them.. Whatever, you gotta admit they’re pretty cool.
